Description
The Building is situated on one of the city’s hilltops, providing views of the Tiete and Pinheiros river valleys. The project aims to find the best solution to the problem posed by this exceptional site – the imposibility of picking one angle as the best, or having the two valleys in the same field of view. This was the thinking behing the choice od structure: the load bearing elements are two side walls, and six pillars set back 2.5 m behind the building’s fasade. The supports are both slender and lofty, the floors can thus rest height of the relevant supports, premits the desired sight line between the two opposing fasades. The view can be enjoyed both from the living room, which is situated in the lower part of the house, and from the living area up on the upper level above kitchen extension. The building’s front entrance features a shallow pool, the water surface and flagstone surround forming a visual continuation of the circular approach area.
